Attendees: Nicole Huso(PR, Emily Massey, Josh Tyra (VP), Jen Schroeder (Parent), Steph Hellberg (parent), Meagan Fiecke (parent), Anna Kiffmeyer (Treasurer), JT Tyra (Secretary), Neil Carlson (Parent), Carin Call and Brian Call (Co-secretary), Kim Jacobs (Title I Specialist), Karen Thompson (Literacy Specialist, Title I), Dorothy Olsen (Principal), Jen Conlon (Asst. Notes

    • Principal’s report - MCAs - 3,4 and 5th grade tested

      • Ms. Lodge had a baby boy
      • Staff appreciation week - thanks for the breakfast bar
      • 3rd graders went to Fort Snelling - 2nd grade to Gibbs Farm on May 14; MAP testing on 5.15 and 5.16
      • Track and Field Day - 5.17
      • Book fair - 5.20
      • D.I. - 5.22 - Kansas city world tournament
      • Talent development will be competing in a author conference
      • Field trips
      • 5th grade grade on June 5
    • Volunteers - 325

      • 2043 hours so far this year
      • MCA hallway monitoring; spring carnival, K skill builders, DI, watchdogs, in-school help
      • Need track and field help, book fair (5.21-5.24 - full), field trip for chaperones
    • Yearbook - walk-up sales - when?

      • 5.30 and 5.31 (2:30 - 3:15 on May 30- $12; and May 31, 3:30-5:00)
    • Dinner night out

      • Brought in $1500
      • Nothing scheduled for May and June yet. Possible yet for track and field night
    • Treasurer’s report - year end audit will take place over the summer

    • Funding requests

      • 4th grade - $60.25 for BBQ to come from student enrichment, or from teacher reimbursement. 

 

  • VOTE - Unanimous - 0-11 - Denied from student enrichment, 

 

        • RETURNED to teachers to resubmit to pay from teacher reimbursement
    • Playground committee - create a sub committee - create sign up genius to have volunteers

      • PTO member would be part of the sub committee
      • Find corporate donors and really keep going on getting the playground
    • Administrative notice - January 11 - voted no as was currently funded

 

  • VOTE -  Unanimous - 11-0 - PASSED

 

      • Jacob Morgan should stay involved
  • Spring Carnival - 590 people (6000 tickets)

    • No silent auction - less items, but the cupcake eating contest went well.
    • Great food trucks
    • Still had issues with middle school students “These are your school events” - Madison ID - More messaging
    • Do we put it on because we get money from it or because we enjoy it?
  • 5th grade celebration - get cake

  • Title I Engagement plan presentation

    • Discussion about Title One
      • What does it mean? (Our School met the need based on our Free or reduced lunch needs) Because we met this need our school got additional funding to help with academic needs.
      • Goals were reviewed by attendees.  SMART goals are based on test scores and Student behavior.
      • What communication changes might help?

  • VOTE - on proposed budget - Unanimously passed 10-0
